EXTEND YOUR HOMES POTENTIAL
This early 1970s home was purchased by the current owners in 2013 in a very rundown and unloved state.
The owners brief to the Architect (Andrew McNally of APG Architects) was to open the house up to the amazing views and embrace the 1970s design in a modern living context. The kitchen, dining and living areas have been extensively remodelled for fun family living and entertainment.
The existing bedroom end of the home has been redeveloped into a children’s wing to include a dedicated bathroom and three children’s bedrooms opening onto a children’s lounge and deck overlooking the river. The home has been cleverly extended to include a new entrance portico and master bedroom and ensuite. Joinery has been replaced with double glazing and the home has been fully insulated. Central heating via water filled radiators operating of a boiler system has been well integrated into the 1970s style making this an exceptionally cosy home in winter. And in the warmer months the whole home can be opened to the outside for great summer living.
This is an exceptional example of a 1970s renovation and extension.
